Fees
All fees are listed with the class descriptions and include GST where applicable.
Where instructors provide materials, additional fees are payable to the instructor the first day of class.
Fees for Kids Art classes include the materials fees unless otherwise stated.
Fee Assistance
Applications are available for the Bruce County Community Services Fund, which provides financial assistance for recreational program fees to residents of Bruce County with a family income below $30,000 a year. A subsidy is available for dependent children under age living at home.
Times
Class times are listed with the class descriptions.
Full-week classes run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Half-day classes run from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Locations
The Art School holds classes in various buildings within two blocks of our office and Gallery Shop in the old Town Hall.
To make it easier to find your class, please consult the map on the back of your registration acknowledgement with the location of your class circled.
Materials
When a materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class is specified, that fee covers special mediums or papers provided for you by the instructor.
“Materials list provided” means that you are required to bring your own supplies, based on the list provided. Materials lists will be sent to you along with confirmation of your registration well before the first day of class.
Limited art supplies may be purchased in the Gallery Shop beside the Art School, Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. (effective May 1).
The Gallery Shop purchases supplies based on those requested by several instructors. In some cases materials are required by a few or only one instructor which does not warrant stocking them. We encourage you to use our advertiser directory in this catalogue to purchase your materials in advance.
Payment
Full payment must be made at time of registration.
Please make cheques payable to the Southampton Art School. Visa and MasterCard payments may be made by phone. Interac is accepted in person.
Kids' Art Age Levels
Students must be within the designated age group on the first day of the class. We reserve the right to ask for appropriate documentation and/or remove a child from a class if he/she is not within the specified age group. We are unable to accommodate children in diapers.
If a child has a physical or learning disability please let us know at registration. Our instructors are trained artists. Some, but not all, are schoolteachers trained to handle special circumstances. Extra assistance for the instructor may be needed; in some cases a parent or guardian may be asked to chaperone their child in class.
Unless it is specified by the instructor or Director, parents and guardians are not permitted to attend classes with their child.
Conditions
The Southampton Art School reserves the right to cancel or change a workshop.
Smoking is NOT allowed inside or within 3 metres (10 feet) of the buildings.
The Southampton Art School is not liable for any injury or loss/damage to possessions.
Cancellations and Refunds
cancellation fee of $40 applies to any class cancelled by the student more than 15 days before the class starting date.
There is NO REFUND on classes the student cancels less than 15 days before the class begins.
If a course is cancelled, registrants will be given one week’s notice.
Full refunds will be paid if the workshop is cancelled by the school for any reason.
There will be no discounts, refunds, credits or transfers for classes not attended.
