fishy fun - pacific

Ages 6 to 8

Using paper mâché, working with clay, and sparkly painting, all of the fish will come out to play! Create funtastic fish on a beautiful African gourd and some that can even hang on your wall, a fish with a secret compartment and some with attitudes too. Giving a name to your pet fish will be part of this fun, fishy adventure.

A hilarious, action-packed week where children learn to think on their feet.Participants will learn improvisation techniques like those seen on Whose Line is it, Anyway? in a supportive, non-judgmental atmosphere. Parents, you won’t want to tell your children it’s educational!

introduction to drama

Ages 8 to 12

Play in the magical world of theatre.  This class ignites the imagination while teaching children basic theatrical skills using their bodies and voices.  Create characters and scenes, improvised from our ideas.  Act out stories, new and old, to help kick-start a new show.  Develop confidence and higher level skills.  All kids, outgoing or quiet, can work at their own pace, in a safe and fun environment with lots of positive encouragement.

once upon a time

Ages 8 to 12

Calling all 8 -12 year olds to come and join us in a land far, far away where we will be creating fairy tale art. We will be making ‘mad hats,’ for the tea party in Alice in Wonderland, mirrors from Snow white, drums for a drumming circle in Pocahontas and for Goldilocks a new papier-mâché porridge bowl that is just right! Fish replicas will be rubbed for the Little Mermaid and from the Frog Prince, there will be beanie baby frogs to make and play with. Come one, come all, join us for creative fun and we’ll all live happily ever after. The End!

This course encourages students to play with colour. Through very broad painting ‘assignments’ they will develop their natural relationships they have with colour and discover the ‘personalities’ inherent in each colour. The colours, in a sense, play together.

printmaking paradise

Ages 9 to 12

Using an easy-to-use material called softoleum, we will carve our own patterns, textures and creatures. They can be printed and reprinted in lots of creative colours. Textured cloth, fruits, vegetables and leaves will also be available to experimentally print with. On our last day we will assemble our work in a creative collage on a selection of plain and coloured papers.

Captain Smiley is looking for a new crew of scallywags for a week of pirate adventure. Masks, maps and puppets mixed with high-seas drama and games will turn you scurvy landlubbers into true pirate artists. Jump aboard ship, boys and girls, for a week of pirate fun.
