Bored of doing the same old stuff over March Break?  Time to break out of the mold and learn something new!

Come, get your hands dirty and have some fun all while learning basic pottery skills. This workshop will take place at the instructor’s studio in Hanover. The workshop begins with a discussion of various species of birds and an introduction to painting with watercolours. Bev will demonstrate how to paint a hummingbird and students will learn a very easy method of transferring images as well as the steps to developing an abstract background. This class is great for beginners and each student will feel a sense of accomplishment when they leave with their very own hummingbird painting.

Watercolour and Batik: a Study of Lighthouses       [ take this course ]

This class will be held at the instructor’s studio in Hanover. Create a beautiful, textured and exciting Lighthouse painting, by combining two mediums: watercolour & batik. Students will start with a quick sketch or transferring the image, applying a layer of batik wax before creasing the watercolour paper in many directions and finally applying a dark wash of watercolour. During the second day all wax is removed and the painting appears, after applying watercolour washes. Students may easily transfer this process to other landscapes involving realism and abstract images.
