About Jean  Chapple

Jean Chapple was educated at the Universityof Waterloo, and followed her Bachelor of Arts degree with studies in Interior Design at WesterveltCollegeand at the Applied Arts Studio in London, Ontario.

Before moving to the Port Elgin region, she worked as a design consultant and painted private commissioned murals for individuals and institutions in the Londonarea for nearly 15 years. She also participated in decorating homes and rooms for Orchestra London’s Interiors. As a volunteer for Community London’s Chair Affair, she painted organic and imaginative designs on a variety of chairs.

Her public murals can be found on the back of Shoppers Drug Mart in Port Elgin and in the Fire Station in Byron, London.

Her first foray into selling creative things was making jewelry of paper and wood clay. She created her technique for mixed media polychromatic mirrors out of a love for making things and being able to use all my painting skills on a smaller scale. Recently she has taken an interest in small paintings, photography and all things quirky…

“I do not call myself an artist but a maker of things that may be enjoyable to others.
