About The Cover (2010)

George PlantGeorge Plant's photographic work results in remarkable images of people of all ages living their lives, at work or play, and of the world around them. Many of his photographs of the local area around Southampton, Ontario capture all-season vistas of the Lake Huron shoreline, the Saugeen River and Chantry Island. His interest in architecture also has yielded striking images of local buildings.

George's formal training in film-based photographic techniques, all aspects of digital imaging, and photojournalism is from The Corcoran College of Art & Design in Washington, DC, and from The Santa Fe Workshops in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

He also has benefited greatly from applied hands-on training and mentoring from national award-winning photojournalists, internationally recognized fine art photographers, and digital imaging experts.

George is a member of the National Press Photographers Association and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. He resides in Silver City, New Mexico and in Southampton, Ontario --where his Sundown Studio & Gallery is located.

We welcome submissions from artists who would like to have their work considered for an Art School catalogue cover. Please submit a photograph for our files for future consideration.

Thank you to all those who contribute to the success of the Southampton Art School and Gallery
